University of Rochester first-year pitcher Molly Broccolo posted a 4-0 record over 22.1 innings last week. She finished with a 0.31 ERA, allowed just two runs (1 earned) and 11 hits while throwing three complete games, which included two shutouts. She struck out 10 during the week and walked three, holding opponents to a .139 average. Broccolo fired a no-hitter in a win against SUNY Brockport on Wednesday, and faced the minimum 15 batters in the 5-inning, run-rule contest. On Saturday, she allowed four hits and just one run in a 4-1 victory over RIT, striking out four. In Sunday’s sweep over Ithaca, Broccolo earned wins in both ends of the DH, tossing a 2-hit shutout in game one before earning the win in relief in game two.
