William Smith College goalie Maura Smeader was 2-0 against a pair of nationally-ranked teams last week. She compiled a .535 save percentage and a 10.00 goals against average in wins against No. 15 Bowdoin and No. 5 Salisbury. Smeader also scooped up seven ground balls. On Tuesday against Bowdoin, she made 10 saves and picked up a career-high ground balls. Against the Seas Gulls, Smeader made a career-high 13 saves, including seven in the first half as the Herons rallied to beat Salisbury. She added two ground balls. Smeader is 5-0 to start the year with a 7.61 GAA and a .464 save percentage. She is 21st in the nation in save percentage.
