Ithaca College graduate student Meghan Matheny was the national runner-up in the pole vault as she cleared 3.95 meters (12' 11.5") for her fifth career All-American performance. Matheny started the competition at 3.45 meters and cleared the bar on her first attempt. She then moved past 3.60 meters on her second try and surpassed 3.75 meters on the first run. Matheny then cruised past 3.80 and 3.85 meters to assure her spot on the podium. From there, she cleared 3.90 meters on her second run to move into the top three. After going over 3.95 meters, Matheny move to 4.00 meter and passed after her first try. Her championship ended at 4.05 meters.
