At the Tufts National Qualifier, RPI junior Cory Kennedy ran the 5,000 meters in 14:15.30 to not only qualify for the NCAA Championship, but also set a school record. Kennedy defeated the runner-up by four seconds (14:19.62). There were 14 competitors in the race and the meet was non team scoring.
