In two events at the Utica Holiday Winter Opener, RPI first-year athlete Emma McGuinn had a runner-up finish and a third-place finish among the three events in which she competed. Individually, McGuinn was second of 15 in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.38. She won her preliminary in 9.53 and then trailed the winner by only .10 (9.28) in the final. The third-place finisher crossed in 10.24. McGuinn also ran the 200 meters and was eighth of 53 (27.97). In the 4x200, she helped RPI to third with a time of 1:52.68. She ran second for the squad, which was just over a second from victory (1:51.06). Overall, RPI finished seventh of 16 schools in the meet.
