Hobart headed into Thanksgiving break on a high note, defeating preseason No. 11 Rochester 73-72 on Tuesday. Hobart College senior forward Jackson Meshanic led the Statesmen with game highs of 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists, outdueling the Yellowjackets' All-American Ryan Algier, who finished with 17 points, six rebounds and an assist. In a game that went right down to the final buzzer, Meshanic played a key role in putting Hobart in front. Rochester grabbed a 72-71 lead with 30 seconds left, but he restored the Statesmen lead with about 12 seconds to go with a tip-in off a teammate's miss. Then he tied up Algier for a steal on a Rochester inbounds pass with seven seconds left to help protect the lead. Meshanic was 11-of-18 shooting for the game.
