RPI senior Matt Lecky finished second at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course, leading RPI to a runner-up finish in the 23-school event hosted by St. Lawrence University. Following the first mile, he was sixth after running a 5:08.8, before moving to fourth at two miles with a time of 10:21.8. Lecky hit the three-mile mark in 15:23.8, which kept him in fourth, and then he moved up two spots to finish in second with a time of 25:18.2. As a team, the Engineers had 57 points in the 8k race and trailed only Williams and its 40 points. Middlebury was third with 99 points.
