Vassar College sophomore James Balon had an outstanding opening weekend for Vassar, posting a 3-0 record at the Haverford Fall Invitational. In the opener against the homestanding Fords, he recorded a 6-4, 6-4 win over Justin Minerva. That afternoon, he recorded a 6-1, 6-2 victory against Hamilton's Nicolas Gritz. Balon concluded action on Sunday with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Washington's Ryokei Kawai.
