The Vassar College doubles team of junior Sofie Shen and first-year Iris Li had a strong opening weekend at the non-team scoring Vassar Scramble. The pair posted a 5-0 mark over the two-day event, opening with an 8-6 win over NYU's Karina Jensrud and Glenda Boeker. The pair also bested Hamilton's Claire Cutler and Hannah Walpole, 8-7. Sunday's action saw the duo defeat New Paltz's Loretta Donovan and Justine Stanejko, 6-2, followed by a 6-4 win against NYU's Boeker and Hannah Change. The pair closed out the day with a 6-0 win over Hamilton's Lila Freeman and Ally Turtledove. No flight rankings were used in the event.
