Kim Goral, Liz Hafer, Sinead Reilly, Lauren Blake-Whitney, Sarah Gordon, Katie Paige, Tess Wiggins, Alyssa Trebilcock and Jess Steketee captured the bronze medal at the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships on Friday. Third-ranked William Smith posted the fastest qualifying time in the morning heats, 6:41.551, to top No. 4 Wellesley by 2.65 seconds. In the afternoon's grand final, which included the top four ranked teams in the nation, the Herons posted a time of 6:46.643, 2.746 seconds off No. 2 Bates and 7.595 seconds behind No. 1 Williams. It's William Smith's first medal in the varsity eight at the ECAC NIRC since winning gold in 1999.
