William Smith College junior midfielder Molly Davis headlined the Herons' defensive effort in a 2-1 week. She had a team-high five caused turnovers, 15 draw controls and eight ground balls as William Smith opened Liberty League play with two victories. She also had a hand in the offense with four points on two goals and two assists. Against previously unbeaten Clarkson, Davis and the Herons limited the Golden Knights to a season-low four goals and 17 shots. She had six draw controls, a caused turnover and a ground ball in the win. The next day against nationally-ranked St. Lawrence (No. 25), Davis had five draw controls, three caused turnovers and five ground balls. The Herons defense limited a St. Lawrence team that was averaging 17 goals per game to just five goals (18 shots) in a 13-5 victory. Davis added a goal and an assist in the victory. She currently leads the team with 40 draw controls. She has also scooped up 13 ground balls and caused five turnovers.
