Ithaca College sophomore Jack Wadsworth had a record-breaking week at the pool during the 2022 Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships where he was named Swimmer of the Year. He won three individaul events (200-yard IM, 400-yard IM, 200-yard backstroke) and took part in four of Ithaca’s relays (winning three and taking second in one).

In the 200-yard individual medley, he posted a Liberty League championship and association record time of 1:48.37. Wadsworth broke the previous meet record of 1:51.61 set by Dio Tzortzis of Bard in 2018. His time was also an Ithaca program record. Wadsworth continued his assault in the Liberty League championship record book by winning the 400-yard individual medley in a meet, association, school and pool record time of 3:51.34. Wadsworth broke the meet record of 3:59.57 established in 2019 by Dio Tzortzis of Bard. Wadsworth owned the association record of 3:59.20 set December 4, earlier this season. His time easily qualified as an NCAA-B cut time. Wadsworth won the event by more than 13 seconds. In the 200-yard backstroke, he finished with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:44.95. Wadsworth broke the meet record of 1:50.51 set in 2020 by Harrison Bass of RPI. He narrowly missed an NCAA A-cut (1:44.47). He also posted championship record times with his teammates in the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:40.99) and the 400-yard free style relay (2:59.38).
