In a dual meet at Union, RPI sophomore Daniel Savidge was victorious in both events in which he swam. He won the five-competitor 1000 free in a time of 10:06.18, which was nearly 11-seconds in front of the runner-up's time of 10:17.98. He then defeated five others in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:58.97, touching the wall nearly four seconds in front of teammate Michael Lee's 2:02.43. RPI won 14 of the 16 events in the meet on its way to a 203-81 triumph over the Dutchmen.
