RIT first-year Jake Sapp won the 100 freestyle (46.83), set a school record in the 100 backstroke and was on three winning relays to help RIT to a first place finish at the 2021 Don Richards Invitational. Friday, Sapp swam 51.89 in the opening backstroke leg of the 400 medley relay, breaking Derek Rothrock's school record of 52.60 in the 100 backstroke set in 2016. He swam in RIT's record-setting 200 medley relay and swam the second leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay.
