Her two victories in the No. 2 spot helped William Smith start the season 2-0. Against Denison, she won her match 3-0, besting Antoinette Ramsey, 11-5, 11-6, 11-4. In the Chatham match she rallied for a 3-1 victory, dispatching her opponent, 9-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-7.
