University of Rochester sophomore Alex Opsahl finished in fifth place in the decathlon at the All-Atlantic Regional Championships last week. Osaphl accumulated a total of 5,863 points, a personal-best which ended the regular season ranked #40 in Division III. Within the decathlon, Opsahl was the runner-up in the long jump (6.48m) and discus (30.57) and was fourth in three other events--the 1500m (4:53.53), shot put (10.84m) and pole vault (3.60m). Opsahl’s long jump and javelin (40.88m) marks set new personal bests.
