St. Lawrence University junior Kathleen Merchant broke an 11-year-old school record in the discus to lead the Saints to a win at the five-team St. Lawrence Invitational on Saturday. She won the event with a mark of 39.56 meters, good for third on the conference performance list. She also added a win in the shot put (11.91 meters) and a second-place finish in the hammer throw (37.73 meters).
