University of Rochester first-year Nolan Sparks tossed a two-hit shutout of SUNY Cortland on Wednesday, picking up a win in his collegiate debut. He needed just 92 pitches to get through seven innings (complete game), while striking out eight and walking only one. Rochester swept the Red Dragons to open the season, and won 8-0 in Sparks’ victory.
