Vassar College first-year Zach Johnson averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.5 assists in Vassar's 1-1 weekend. In the 60-55 victory over Union, Johnson led the team with 20 points, going 8-for-14 from the field (.571 percent) and grabbed nine boards with five assists and three steals. Johnson scored eight straight points in the second half to give the Brewers a 48-47 lead late in the game. He then sealed the victory with a final fast break layup. Against Hobart, Johnson led Vassar again with 14 points behind 7-of-10 shooting (.700 percent). He also grabbed six rebounds, five of which were offensive boards.
