First-year midfielder Grace Gillian scored a goal and played a key role in William Smith's defensive unit that allowed just one goal in a 2-0-0 week in Liberty League play. On Wednesday in a 2-0 win over RIT, Gillian scored her first collegiate goal in the 18th minute. She fired a shot into the upper right corner of the cage. It would prove to be the game-winning goal. On the defensive end of the field, she helped William Smith's defense limit the Tigers to six shots, two on cage. In Saturday's victory over Skidmore, Gillian and the William Smith defense limited Skidmore to just three first half shots.
