St. Lawrence University junior Carter Franz hit .857 with 12 hits in 14 at bats, scored eight runs and drove in three and was perfect on 14 chances in the field as the Saints took three of four from Vassar to open Liberty League play. He had a .929 slugging percentage and a .900 on base percentage, drawing five walks in addition to his 12 hits.
