He came on in relief in the seventh inning in game one, earning the save by retiring three straight hitters and then carried that momentum over in his game two start, where he struck out 13 batters in a complete-game nine-inning effort. For the weekend, he had a 0.90 earned run average and struck out 14 hitters in 10 innings of work, giving up six hits.
