St. Lawrence University freshman Elkie Vandenbeemt advanced to the “A” Flight Singles semifinals and went 4-0 on her way to the “A” Flight Doubles championship at the Mary Hosking Invitational. In singles, she defeated the third seed from Geneseo (8-4) before knocking off an opponent from Rochester (8-4). She lost to the top seed and eventual champion from Rochester in the semifinals. In doubles, she paired with Hillary Drewry ’12, winning matches against William Smith (8-4), Geneseo (8-5), RIT (8-5) and Rochester (8-3).
