At the Goucher Track & Field Classic in Baltimore, her first collegiate outdoor meet, RPI first-year athlete Ileana Sirois had a win, a second-place finish and a third as the Engineers finished first among the 11 competing teams with 289 points, while the runner-up (Catholic) had 100. Sirois won the five-person triple jump with a maximum effort of 10.58, which came on her second attempt. The runner-up reached 9.49 meters. She finished second in the 100 Hurdles, which started with 11 competitors, with a time of 16.82 after running the preliminaries in 16.28. The finals winner crossed in 16.66. Sirois also competed in the long jump, finishing third of 19 with a 4.91, which came on her sixth attempt.
