William Smith College sophomore defender Mekayla Montgomery scooped up a team-high 10 ground balls, won 15 draws and caused 13 turnovers in a 3-0 road trip for the Herons. She also had two goals and three assists for five points. Montgomery recorded all five points in William Smith's win over Cabrini. She also recorded six ground balls, caused six turnovers and won five draws against the Cavaliers. On Friday against RPI, she won six draws, caused four turnovers and two ground balls. The next day, she won five draws, caused three turnovers and had two ground balls against Union. Through eight games this season, Montgomery has won 41 draws, caused 20 turnovers and scooped up 27 ground balls, all team highs.
