William Smith College junior Anna Leffler was a double-winner and broke a school record to help the Herons finish second at the RIT Don Richards Invitational. Leffler captured the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.75, nearly a second ahead of the runner-up. Leffler won her second event in the 400 IM, breaking her own school record with a time of 4:40.82. Her time in the 400 IM was five seconds faster than the second-place finisher and more than 3.5 seconds ahead of her old record. In addition to her victories, Leffler also had a hand in three third-place finishes during the weekend. Individually, she was third in the 100 backstroke (1:00.04) and swam legs for the third place finishing 200 free relay (1:45.0) and 400 medley relay (4:10.00). Leffler placed fourth in the 200 backstroke (2:11.51). William Smith's second place finish was a three-place improvement over last season when the team was fifth out of six teams.
