Union freshman Tosin Kazeem was named the NYSCTC Rookie of the Year at the NYSCTC Championships after winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.54 seconds. Besides breaking the Union school record, the rookie outdid his preliminary time of 22.65 seconds, again qualifying for the ECAC Championships and establishing a personal best. Kazeem also earned ECAC marks in the preliminaries for the 60-meter dash, recording a personal-best time of 7.04 seconds. In the finals, he ended in fourth-place with a time of 7.12 seconds.
