RIT first-year swimmer Phoebe Huey won a pair of individual events and a relay event to help RIT knock off defending Liberty League champion Rensselaer to open the season. Huey made her collegiate debut by winning both sprint freestyle events, the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle. She recorded a time of 25.19 seconds in the 50-free and 54.70 seconds right after in the 100-free. She was part of the 400-yard freestyle relay that sealed the win, finishing in 3:41.27.
