Vassar College sophomore goalie Andrew Nicol made 15 saves, the second-highest total of his career, in leading the Brewers to a 12-4 season-opening victory over SUNY Maritime. With the score tied 2-2, Nicol blanked Maritime in the second and third periods, earning six of his saves in that stretch. For the game, Nicol faced 36 shots, 10 coming in the last period. He also had three ground balls in the contest.
