Rochester's novice 8+ boat consisting of Pari Sharma, Brianna Best, Annalie O'Brien, Elizabeth Yarnall, Anna White, Rachel Anthony, Shirley Zhang, Shellie Downie, Hannah Glucksman were gold medalists at the Head of the Genesee regatta on Saturday. The Yellowjackets posted a time of 17:12.21, finishing first by more than 50 seconds ahead of runner-up RIT and over 70 seconds clear of third-place St. Lawrence. Rochester showed its dominance early in the head race, passing the one boat that started ahead of it (RIT) fairly early along the course layout. UR's novice 8+ boat recorded a time that would have put it in third place in the Varsity 2V category.
