Unseeded in the tournament, Skidmore College first-year player Tristan Thiebaut advanced to the championship match of the 'D' singles flight at the Middlebury Invitational. Thiebaut beat Geir of Bates (7-5, 6-4), fourth-seeded Verma of Tufts (7-6, 6-1, 10-5) and Hilty of Middlebury (4-6, 6-2 (7). He lost in the championship to third-seeded Ng of Brandeis (6-4, 6-4).
