Hobart College junior Daniel Pelaez posted a 3-0 record at No. 2 over the weekend as the Statesmen won the CSA Team National Championships Conroy Cup D Division. On Friday, Pelaez cruised to an 11-4, 11-5, 11-4 win in an 8-1 victory over Colgate. On Saturday, he dropped his first game 10-12, but rallied to win 11-8, 11-7, 11-6 as the Statesmen edged Northeastern 5-4. In the final on Sunday, Pelaez defeated Tufts' Alex Nalle in four games (11-9, 6-11, 11-7, 11-7)in a 5-4 victory over the Jumbos. Pelaez avenged a 3-0 loss to Nalle the last time the teams met back on Jan. 22. Pelaez recorded 14 wins this season, with 12 coming at the No. 2 spot.
