RPI freshman Kaitlin Joyce was named the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Female Rookie of the Year following the 2018 league championships. Over the course of the four-day championships, Joyce recorded two second place finishes in the 50 freestyle (24.17) and 200 free (1:54.62) while taking third in the 100 free (52.80). The freshman swam a leg in the first place 200 freestyle, 800 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays while helping the Engineers hit NCAA B-cut times in the 200 and 800 freestyle relays. Additionally, Joyce broke the RPI 50 freestyle record in both the preliminaries and finals.
