At this past weekend's Liberty League Swimming & Diving championships, Union College senior Sam Hoyt was named Diver of the Meet. During the four-day championship meet, Hoyt swept the diving competition. He tallied 571.4 points during day one of the championships on the 30-meter dive. With the score, he captured first place and broke a meet record. He returned to the board on day three and with 544.75 points also took top honors on the 1-meter dive, where Hoyt broke another meet record. He combined for a championship-high 1,116.15 points to earn Diver of the Meet and Diver of the Year honors.
