In a six-school meet at Middlebury, RPI freshman Erik LaCourt was third in the mile with a time of 4:31.32, which trailed only teammates Sean O'Connor (4:20.10) and Grant O'Connor (4:23.66). There were 20 total competitors in the field. As a team, Rensselaer compiled 136 points, which was a only dozen behind Middlebury. Franklin Pierce was third with 101 points.
