In his first collegiate action, RPI freshman Aaron Tice had a win and a third-place finish as an individual and a second-place finish in a relay. Tice was third in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:50.74, just behind the runner-up's 1:50.65, and then won the 500 free, defeating six others in a time of 5:08.10. He was more than three seconds ahead of the runner-up (5:11.14). In his final event of the day, Tice swam the anchor leg on the second-place 400 freestyle relay that finished in 3:22.26. The Engineers defeated the Tigers, 216-84.
