In her first collegiate action, RPI freshman Katy Joyce had wins in the 50 freestyle and 400 free relay, a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay and a fourth in the 100 freestyle. Joyce started the day with a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay, swimming the anchor leg on a team that touched the wall in 1:54.91. She then beat six others in the 50 free (25.29) before placing fourth in the 100 free (55.78). Her last event was the 400 free relay, which she helped to victory (3:44.56) by nearly seven seconds (3:51.52). She swam third on the unit. The Engineers defeated RIT in the meet, 203-97.
