William Smith College freshman Paighton Alberts was the Herons' top first-year finisher and the second first-year across the finish line overall in the CCOC Championships on Saturday. She covered the 6-kilometer course in 25:56, finishing eighth out of 112 runners. It was Alberts' first collegiate top-10 finish. William Smith finished second out of 11 teams.
