RPI freshman Ryan Quinn shot a second day 69 to win the 101-person Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted by Allegheny College at the Country Club of Meadville. He overcame a four-shot deficit by shooting the best score of the day, five strokes better than day one, to earn medalist in his second collegiate tournament. He won by one stroke over two who finished in second place. In the tournament, which was played on a par 72, 6687-yard course, Ryan was tied for the lead with a 5-under on the par 5s and even on the par 4s. He finished with eight birdies, which was second in the field, and 23 pars. As a team, RPI placed second in the 18-team event, trailing only the defending national champions, Wittenberg, by one stroke, 605-606.
