RIT freshman Alex Maruna helped the men's lacrosse team to a 2-0 record last week in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The freshman defenseman grabbed eight ground balls, caused two turnovers and helped RIT hold its opponents to 7.5 goals per game. Wednesday, Maruna grabbed four ground balls and and caused a turnover in a 29-8 win over John Carroll in the second round. Saturday, Maruna grabbed four ground balls and caused a turnover in a 17-8 win over No. 13 Stevenson in the third round. Maruna has 43 ground balls and caused 19 turnovers his first season at RIT.
