In two games last week, both victories, RPI freshman attack Owen Putman had eight goals and three assists for 11 points. He also took 17 shots (12 on goal) with eight ground balls, no turnovers and a caused turnover. In a 13-7 win over Babson on Wednesday, he scored three times with three assists, seven shots (6 on goal) and two ground balls. He scored once in the first quarter to put the Engineers ahead, 4-1, once in the third (8-3) and once in the four (13-7). His first two markers were assisted. He had assists in the second and third (2) quarters. On Saturday against league-foe Skidmore, Owen scored five times with 10 shots (6 on goal), a career-high six ground balls and a caused turnover. His first goal, which was unassisted on the man-up, put the Engineers ahead by three, 4-1, before he scored back-to-back goals in the second for a 7-2 lead. His final two goals were unassisted and they came in the third quarter, extending RPI's lead to 13-2 and 15-2. The Engineers defeated the Thoroughbreds, 17-6.
