The RPI team of Colin Smith (Sr., Bethesda, Md.), Jason Hall (So., Victor, N.Y.), Noah Falasco (Fr., King of Prussia, Pa.) and Ben Fazio (Sr., East Greenwich, R.I.) won the distance medley relay National Championshop after posting a time of 9:56.42 at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championship meet. The squad defeated 11 others in becoming the first relay team in school history to win an NCAA title. Smith opened the race and ran a 3:04 in the 1,200 meters to take the lead, handing off to Hall, who ran his 400 leg in 50 seconds. Falasco maintained the Engineers' third-place spot with a 1:55 over 800 meters, handing to Fazio for the stretch. The senior fell back to fifth place for two laps before making a charge to take the lead, running a 4:05 over 1,600 meters to hold off the opposition, including the runner-up by more than two seconds.
