University of Rochester freshman Ricardo Lopez fell one match short in his quest to earn All-American honors at the CSA Individual Championships over the weekend. Lopez was the #2 seed in the Molloy (B) East Division and reached the finals, ultimately losing to Trinity's Affeeq Ismail by a 3-1 score. To reach the final, Lopez defeated Matthew Lillie of Conn College (3-0) in the opening round. He then topped teammate Matthew Toth (3-2) in the quarters before posting a 3-0 win in the semifinals over Princeton's Shehab Thabet.
