Union College senior guard Deshon Burgess was the MVP of the Liberty League tournament and led the Dutchmen to their first league title and NCAA appearance since 2004-05. He scored 33 points with 5 assists and 5 rebounds and was 12 of 13 at the line in the title win over Hobart. Union trailed by six at 64-58 with 4:22 left and Burgess then scored the final 13 points for Union including a three pointer with 16 seconds left to erase a 67-66 deficit. Burgess scored 34 points, tying his career high, with 8 rebounds and 4 assists at St. Lawrence, and hit the game-winning three pointer with 0.9 left in the second OT to win the semifinal game, 110-108.
