William Smith College freshman Anna Leffler capped off a strong rookie season with a pair of top-10 finishes at the UNYSCSA Championships in Ithaca, N.Y. last week. On Wednesday night, she helped William Smith break the school record in the 200 medley relay. Swimming in the lead off leg, the 50 backstroke, Leffler stopped the clock at 28:10, tying a 34-year old school record. Thursday, she helped the William Smith 400 Medley relay break a school record. Once again swimming in the lead off leg, the 100 backstroke, Leffler broke a 34-year old school record. The next morning morning, she lowered her own 100 backstroke school record posting a time of 59.38 to advance to the finals. That evening she touched the wall in eighth place, the highest finish by a first-year in the event. She closed out the state meet with a 10th place finish in the 200 backstroke, touching the wall with a time of 2:10.53. Leffler also placed 13th in the 200 individual medley.
