In the Ithaca Quad Meet, RPI first-year athlete Dale Kelly was part of two first-place finishes - one as an individual and the other on a relay. He won the 60 meter dash in 7.05 (runner-up was 7.22) and ran the third leg of the top 4x400 relay team, which finished nearly three seconds in front of the runner-up (3:25.72 to 328.77). The Engineers won the meet with 55 points, finishing ahead of Brockport (49.50), Ithaca (41.50) and Oneonta (28).
