In two meets, RPI junior Jessica Sauve swam in six events and finished first in five as the Engineers won their dual meet and were second in a six-team invitational. On Friday at Union, Sauve won the 1000-free in 10:51.82, the 500-free in 5:16.13 and helped the 200-free relay team to a runner-up finish (1:40.23). She won the 1000 by nearly four seconds (10:55.78) and the 500 by a narrow margin (5:17.96). The 200 team was beaten by less than a second (1:39.50). The Engineers won the meet, 139-101. Less than 24 hours later, Sauve posted three victories in the RPI Kumpf Invitational. She was first in both the 1000 (10:55.02) and 500 (5:21.87) freestyles, beating the next closest swimmers by nearly 13 (11:08.66) and five (5:26.77) seconds respectively. In the 400-free relay, Jessica swam the final leg for the team, which clocked a time of 3:41.22, nearly two seconds in front of the runner-up (3:43.78). The Engineers finished second behind Ithaca and ahead of Clarkson, Cortland, Skidmore and William Smith.
