The University of Rochester Novice Four boat captured the gold medal at the NYS Championships on Saturday, winning the grand final N4 race by over 3 seconds over Army and fellow Liberty League members St. John Fisher and William Smith novice 4 boats. Rochester’s winning time was 9:08.50, with the next closest Liberty League boat coming over 6.5 seconds behind (3rd place St. John Fisher).  It is the second straight week Rochester’s Novice Four won gold, as they captured 1st place at the Liberty League championships last week.
