RPI senior Tyler Yeastedt competed in four events in the Upstate Classic and he finished in first in three and second in the other, though the winner was unattached. He won the discus with a NCAA Division III season-best 53.57 meters, out-throwing 25 other competitors, including the runner-up who reached 39.38 meters. Yeastedt also won the shot put, defeating 25 others with his heave of 15.43 meters. The second-place finisher had a throw of 13.55 meters. In the javelin, he was first of 18 with a throw of 52.37 meters, which was more than five meters in front of the runner-up (47.25). In the hammer, Tyler was first among those attached, reaching 54.91 meters. He was ahead of the next competitor (there were 18 in total) by more than two meters (52.90). The winner reached 60.39 meters.
