In RPI's lone game last week, a win over No. 18 Ithaca, senior long stick midfielder John Phillips not only helped the Engineers hold the Bombers to seven goals, he played against Ithaca's top scorer, who entered the game with nine goals and two assists, without a point and without a single shot. John had a game-high (tied) three ground balls, two caused turnovers and a shot in RPI's 8-7 victory. The Bombers averaged 18 goals in their two previous games to start the season.
